Post on Props -

Props

·         Beer jug

This will be used to give the effect of the characters in the pub drinking beer, emphasizing that they are inside of a pub and they like there drink.

·         Circular table

This will give the effect of it being a classic looking pub, giving the feel of the atmosphere being very original.

·         Beer mat

This will be used to make the scene look more authentic, as you will find beer mats in all pubs, especially more original pubs, also it will subtlety show the audience that they like beer as it will be beer branded.

·         Football event poster

The football poster will be used to advertise the football event in the scene, starting the introduction of the rest of the film.

Props that are essential – but come with the location

·         Corner seat

This will be used for the characters to sit on, and it will give the atmosphere of a classic looking pub. As it is a corner seat, it makes it look as if the characters always sit in this seat when going to the pub, making them look like regulars.

The bar will be important to give the feel of a pub, as the characters will be getting served drinks and also talking to the bar man, behind the bar.

Type of Institution

Institution

The type of institution that we chose to be effects the type of movie that we create, as if you are a independent institution, the movie will be cheaper and will not really have a sense of quality about it, compared with other institutions that have a lot more money of which they can spend on the production of the movie, letting them have more freedom in what they can do as they have more resources.

The type of institution that we have chosen to be is a independent intuition, this is because they money and resources that we have when filming our movie is limited compared with larger companies. Another reason for becoming a independent institution is that there should be 'as much' pressure to create an amazing, front paper film, as people will most likely expect less and possibly be surprised with what they see from the end product.

Genre - Why?

Type of Genre that we are going to be...

The genre of which we picked, and are going to base our movie around is Comedy. To be specific it is a Comedy, Sports, Drama.
We have chosen this because we feel that this genre best suits each of our skills within the group, and therefore it would be much easier for us to create something that we already feel we are comfortable in. This will make the production of the film much easier in the long run and also as we feel that we are fairly good in this area, which means that we are fully motivated and have great ideas to make our film a success!

Yeti Institutional Logo

I chose to design my logo like this as I thought that it looked professional and the use of the yeti behind made it look really effective as it reflected the production company name.

Yeti Institutional Logo

This is my idea for our production company logo, this will be one of three logos produced by our group which will give us options of what our logo will look like. We could use one of these logos or combine ideas from all three. I chose to design my logo like this as I liked the contrast of the two colours yellow and grey.

Research on film openings

When I researched the web I originally found out that the movie title sequences are seen to be one of the most important factors when making a good quality film, for example choosing the correct actors is vital for audiences and setting the tone and atmosphere is also a deciding factor whether a film is worth watching. The opening scenes of a film are important as you want to retain viewers and in order to do this you need to make not only the first scenes good but also all the other scenes. Furthermore, I found out that the majority of film institutions aim to produce the first 15 minutes of a film as enticing as possible. They do this to make sure that the viewers do not leave in the first 10 minutes for instance making it interesting then the audience will hopefully stay and watch the rest of the film.  Also, when I researched about the screenplay and it says that if you do not make the script interesting then it is highly unlikely your film will want to be made, having said this, trying to make a script sound interesting is difficult as people often get bored whilst reading.

Drive Film Opening

Drive opening scene Youtube link

We chose to re-make this film opening because we feel as a group that this would best suit our as it would challenge us to create something of a good standard which will help us in the long run when it comes to creating our own film opening. We wanted to create an accurate representation of the opening to the vest of our ability, so that we understood what we can and also would struggle to do which is vital as it saves time when filming our own opening. We specifically chose to use the 'Drive' opening scene as it also had a lot of challenging camera angles within the film which made us think on how and what to do when it came to filming each angle which comes as an advantage as it gave us a better understanding to the things that we can achieve through various different methods of filming.

Drive Re-make Storyboard

Why we are doing a re-make

Why we are doing a re-make...
We are doing a re-make of an existing film opening called 'Drive', which will enable us to understand the running of a film of which we have created our selves. This will include a better understanding of time management to allow us to film our opening with the sufficient shots and editing in the allotted time frame, the understanding of credits within a film opening, the transitions needed to create an accurate representation and the appropriate material filmed to make the film opening successful.
Overall we are re-creating the 'Dive' opening scene to gauge a overall better view on how to create a film opening of which will help us when it comes to creating our own scripted material.
