Institutional Logo research

Mainstream



This is an example of a mainstream company's institutional logo. The backgrounds tend to be quite powerful, for example as you can see on the left the lion is portrayed to look powerful. The logos stereotypically have rather professional logos and are often animated. ·         The type of films they make tend to be very successful films and will be well known worldwide.

 

·         They film in locations that you would recognise which makes the audience feel more involved.

 

·         The type of actors are well known which as a result attract to a larger audience often referred to as a mass audience.

 

Independent films

This is an example of an Independent institutional logo. other film institution. Their logos  consist of a simple design. Moreover, independent films do not often use any type of animation or sound over the top of their logo. This gives the logo a more simplistic look.

 

·         Logos tend to be smaller, like the one below.



·         Independent is a lot less due to not being given a lot of money in comparison to mainstream institutions.

·         Independent film companies often target niche audiences whereas mainstream institutions tend to target mass audiences.
